New Jersey’s Smart Growth Approach to
Brownfield Redevelopment

New Jersey’s brownfield redevelopment programs are critical to continuing
intelligent, targeted development. DCA’s Office of Smart Growth helps
make this possible.
New Jersey Awards $5.2 Million for Cleanup
Total dollars approved in 2004 for the assessment, investigation and remediation
of contaminated and underutilized sites came to more than $5.2 million, which
has gone to 36 different municipalities.
Massachusetts Smart Growth Alliance Launches
Brownfield Campaign
The Massachusetts Smart Growth Alliance, in partnership with a team of stakeholders,
has launched a campaign to infuse the Brownfields Redevelopment Fund with an
additional $30 million and to amend the act.
