Atlantic Station Hosts Grand Opening

After nearly eight years of planning, development and construction, Atlantic Station officially opened to the public Thursday, October 20. The 138-acre mixed-use community, formerly the site of the historic Atlantic Steel Mill, is already home to several thousand residents and office workers living and working in the landmark midtown Atlanta redevelopment.

A number of public events were scheduled surrounding the official opening, including several fundraisers for charitable organizations, free concerts, art installations, a hot air balloon glow, prize giveaways and family activities.

The redevelopment is ultimately projected to include 12 million square feet of retail, office, residential and hotel space as well as 11 acres of public parks. BFN
